EVENT TERMS & CONDITIONS

REGISTRATION & PAYMENT
Sustain Athletics events may be free, pay-what-you-can, or paid. Details for each event are listed on the event page or registration form.

Events included in a Sustain Athletics Membership (such as workshops) are free for members, who are registered automatically unless otherwise noted.

For paid events, payment is due at the time of registration unless otherwise arranged. Your spot is not confirmed until payment (or your chosen contribution amount) has been received. Payments are accepted through Wix, e-transfer, or another agreed-upon method.

Pay-what-you-can pricing is a flexible participation fee for certain events, not a charitable donation. Payments are not eligible for charitable tax receipts.

For the 2026 Workshop Series, a payment of $5 or more is greatly appreciated for the time, energy, and resources put into these workshops, and to help improve the content. A minimum of $2 is required, unless otherwise arranged.

CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS

Paid events are generally non-refundable once payment has been made, but please reach out if you are unable to attend. Refunds and transfers to a future event are considered on a case-by-case basis.

If Sustain Athletics needs to cancel or reschedule an event for any reason, registrants will be notified as soon as possible and offered a full refund or a spot in a rescheduled event. For free events, registrants will be notified of any changes.

SCOPE OF CONTENT
Sustain Athletics events provide general coaching, educational information, and practical guidance related to trail running, hiking, training, event preparation, gear, nutrition, sustainability, and related topics.

Events are educational, informational, and community-oriented. They do not constitute individualized coaching, personalized training plans, or one-on-one consultations unless specifically identified as such. A primary intention of our events is to facilitate discussion around sustainability and trail endurance, to share knowledge and resources, and to collectively pursue positive impact for our unique lifestyles and needs.

My current education, training, and professional qualifications are described on the About Me page. Please consider these qualifications when using information provided through Sustain Athletics events. I am not a registered dietitian or other regulated healthcare professional, and nutrition-related information is provided for general educational purposes only. Where a question falls outside my qualifications or scope of practice, I may recommend seeking guidance from an appropriately qualified professional.

PARTICIPANT RESPONSIBILITIES
You are responsible for determining whether the information, guidance, and activities provided at a Sustain Athletics event are approprate for your individual circumstances.

Participation in running, hiking, training, and other physical or outdoor activities involves inherent risks, including injury, weather exposure, wildlife, and terrain hazards. You are responsible for making your own decisions regarding your health, training, nutrition, equipment, safety, and participation, and for seeking appropriate professional advice where necessary.

For in-person events, participants are expected to bring appropriate gear, food, and water, to follow the Community Guidelines, and to look out for the safety of themselves and others. Participants may be asked to sign a waiver before taking part in in-person activities.

RECORDINGS, PHOTOS & CONTENT USE

Online events may be recorded for internal or promotional purposes. In-person events may be photographed or filmed for use on the Sustain Athletics website and social media. By attending, you consent to being included unless you notify Sustain Athletics in advance that you'd prefer not to appear (e.g., camera off, or asking not to be photographed).

Event content (including slides, recordings, and shared materials) is provided for personal use by registrants only and may not be redistributed, resold, or shared publicly without permission.

COMMUNITY CONDUCT

Sustain Athletics events are intended to be welcoming, respectful, and supportive spaces. Participants are expected to follow the Community Guidelines. As Sustain Athletics, we respectfully acknowledge that we are guests on lands that have long been stewarded by Indigenous Peoples, many of which remain unceded. Wherever we are, we encourage our athletes to learn and listen from the native cultures of their area.

For Sustain Run Club, we enjoy the beautiful trails of the Syilx Okanagan Nation. Other Sustain Athletics activities are largely based on the lands of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and səl̓ilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

Thanks, we'll get back you soon!
