TRAINING PLANS

The following training plans are designed to guide athletes toward completing a 25 km or 50 km trail run with significant elevation gain over six training blocks (26 weeks), at any pace. The blocks are structured from February to July 2026, with a series of five gradual peaks leading into your goal event in mid-July, followed by a couple of weeks of recovery. Group meetings will take place once each in February, May, and July via Zoom.

With light guidance from me, these plans are designed to be adaptable to your lifestyle and goals. They provide the information and metrics needed to make informed and intuitive training decisions. Over the 26 weeks, we’ll connect through three group meetings (via Zoom) to ask questions, share feedback, and receive some personalized support in shaping your training. There’s also a dedicated
Heylo chat for Training Plan participants, creating a team experience as we work toward our individual goals.

If you’re not quite ready to jump on the training wagon, don’t worry — there’s still plenty of time before the goal distances in July. Anyone who joins in February will receive free onboarding support to merge into the plan. A $20 onboarding fee will apply for participants joining later. If you’re interested, I’m happy to chat about what this could look like for you.

This is the first iteration of a general training plan of my design, and it lays the foundation for the programs I hope to continue building through Sustain Athletics. Your participation and feedback will directly shape how these programs evolve and improve.

As Sustain Athletics, we respectfully acknowledge that we are guests on lands that have long been stewarded by Indigenous Peoples, many of which remain unceded. Wherever we are, we encourage our athletes to learn and listen from the native cultures of their area.

For Sustain Run Club, we enjoy the beautiful trails of the Syilx Okanagan NationOther Sustain Athletics activities are largely based on the lands of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and sÉ™lÌ“ilwÉ™taɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
